This week has been exhausting. I have thoughts (always) but nothing coherent to share. You'll have to talk amongst yourselves today. I'll give you a topic:

I'll go first…
What I’m…
Reading
This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan. Really enjoyed this mature romance. I have a full review up on my site.
Let Us Descend by Jesmyn Ward. A spectacular ending to my Aspen Words Longlist reading.
Nothing Else But Miracles by Kate Albus. Finished this delightful read aloud with the kids.
A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams. Quite different from Seven Days in June, but I was actually really into this magical realism romance.
The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters. Read this in a day (library due dates always motivate me!) Still digesting but it really held my attention.
Listening
Filterworld: How Algorithms Flattened Culture by Kyle Chayka. [Insert head exploding emoji here.]
Dead Weight: Essays on Hunger and Harm by Emmeline Clein. Sharp, poignant, smart collection of essays on disordered eating and beauty ideals.
Watching
Love Is Blind. Finally! I waited to start until I knew I could watch the series straight through and I regret nothing.
Eating & Drinking
This Chipotle Chicken and Broccoli sheet pan meal is a fast favorite, don’t sleep on that dipping sauce! I like to serve it with Instant Pot Mashed Sweet Potatoes.
My 11yo’s frequently requested Spaghetti & Meatballs + the best homemade garlic bread.
Currently on an Earl Grey tea kick.

Whether or not audiobooks “count” is not a debate I care to entertain, but this is very interesting context on the topic.
S/O audiobooks: here are your 2024 Audie Award Winners and Finalists
And s/o awards: the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction finalists have been announced. Surprisingly, I have read 3/5 titles.

Thanks for that Audie Award link - I found one to add to my wishlist :-) I'm reading a nonfiction title "Made in America" right now that is teaching me a LOT about the history of textile manufacturing in America, and listening to one of Thrity Umrigar's older titles "The World We Found". Oh, and I'm dipping in and out of Little Women (again!) to prepare for talking about it at school on Wednesday when I'm going to be wearing my Meg & Jo & Beth & Amy sweatshirt for "Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character" Day ;-)
